Confucious as well as other figures like Buddha, Socrates lived in the same era -around 5 BC. It's interesting to see these figures reached the similar conclusion -the middle of the road (In Greek it's not Socrates, but in Aristotles though ).
Confucious was a tall man -180 cm, educated all by himself. Analects was believed to be started being editted while still he was alive. It's not written by him since we know the steady expression at the beginning of the axiom as 'the master said..'
Confucious, Buddha both lived up to 80, Socrates to 71. Jesus was crucified at age 30 something. The teachings of Confucious was ethics in short.
