Confucious as well as other figures like Buddha, Socrates lived in the same era -around 5 BC. It's interesting to see these figures reached the similar conclusion -the middle of the road (In Greek it's not Socrates, but in Aristotles though ).
Confucious was a tall man -180 cm, educated all by himself. Analects was believed to be started being editted while still he was alive. It's not written by him since we know the steady expression at the beginning of the axiom as 'the master said..'
Confucious, Buddha both lived up to 80, Socrates to 71. Jesus was crucified at age 30 something. The teachings of Confucious was ethics in short.

Some people don't like spiders, so-called they are arachnophobia. But I don't particularly loathe these creatures. Of course if they have poison, it would be better to avoid touching. But in this case too I will let them go somewhere outside the room. Back in my city it's not what happened in my room, though, in lower areas I had found centipedes. If we were bit by this, we are likely to have inflammation on the skin but it rarely leads to more severe cases. If spiders were trantula, we will feel very shocked.
It's interesting to observe how various creatures are taken in different societies, for example, dragon was a good sign in Asia. In some belief spiders, gekkoes are thought to be a sacred keeper in household.
Australia has huge desert in hinterland, Sydney was one of few exceptions in the continent. In desert those creatures might enjoy their lives in full swing. But I was unable to encounter those creatures in central Sydney.

There are 1.5 million Korean descendants who live in Japan, in which some population from North origin have been also persecuted in Japan. But the trade with North Korea has been not so common, North Korean descendants are already very Japanese, so I don't think those measures cause some notable effect.
From military viewpoint, Japan has patriot missile system, this system is meant for defence, missile against an opponent's missile. Besides Japan has Aegis, which can destroy 12 opponent's missiles at the same time. Aegis is equipped in US and Japan only. So even if North Korea declared the ownership of nuclear weapons, that doesn't automatically become an imminent threat to any country.
Japan doesn't hold nuclear weapons, but there are five US military bases in Japan. US military is nuclear equipped. So Japan was kept under the umbrella of nuclear weapons. North Korea was in a hurry to develop nuclear weapons because of this overwhelming US military presence in the region.

The Role Of Nation

There's no racial identity here- almost no national identity

The concept of a nation in Japan became merely clear only after 1868, we might as well consider Japan before that period was a confederation. It's a myth if someone thinks Japan is formed by one people, one language. There were many people who speak so many different languages. But politics made us feel we are united, one people in one nation. In the first place it's just an illusion.

There's still one- your people cooperate. Americans don't. Hardly at all.

Yet I must agree that Japanese people are very submissive to central authority. Americans are not. Americans are independent people who own their own view in many matters. But This is not a sign of discord. This is a sign US has a dynamism as a nation. It's very important. For if one despot appears, all nationals tend to totally agree with him, then sometimes that leads to total devastation as we had before. Japanse people dont think themselves, instead they prefer letting someone think. They just follow.

but does that mean we have to give up the smaller community for the larger one?

Japan's role in international politics has been greatly reducing for recent a couple of years. It seems America, China, UN have been emerging as a practical decision making body in global politics very rapidly. Small community is worth preserving. The aim of politics is to realise the maximum happiness for more people.

Capitalism exists on the correlation of economic freedom and freedom of speech, so if you became rich, you can speak loud.

Right now Japan has no millitary power, the self-defence force is a kind of police power. Diplomacy completely follows America. Now it has been more and more hard to find the features that form the unique characters as an independent nation.
There's another point. The existence of nation is established under the basis that the power of nation is much stronger than that of individuals. Japan used to be so. Now the power of private wealth has been about to exceed the limit of national border. This is based on a system of capitalism. You just close then you will see this screen. You click the point -which contains square, triangle, circle at the right side. They will issue ID number for free.

Thanks for the link. I think they must interogate a really wicked one. But sometimes they cannot do justice against it, but they tend to target a new rich like Horiemon, Murakami. I noticed particularly in the case of Horiemon scandal, public prosecuters have been targetted him just because his activity was very noticeable and publicly known to many people, apparently he made a success in such a short period, etc. I believe their investigation is cleary based upon some presumption that he must have committed some unlawful conduct for he mad a success in such a short time. It's very unfair. I think his success is a real one, not based upon any criminal acts.
